The SurgiCube® is designed by the Netherlands Institute of Innovative Ocular Surgery (www.niios.com). After years of research and development and more than three years experience in the field the SurgiCube® has matured from a great concept into an innovative proven solution. A solution that solves efficiency and accessibility problems we experience in operating rooms worldwide. With the SurgiCube® one can perform small surface surgery and microsurgery 100% sterile, using laminar down flow technique. It provides ultra clean air where it is needed the most: at the operating surface and on the instrument table(s). In a conventional operating room the clean air that comes from the plenum in the ceiling passes instruments, lamps and microscopes and also the surgeon and the assistants. All are possible contamination sources. Once this air flow reaches the operating surface it will not be clean anymore. Working with the SurgiCube® guarantees you the cleanest air flow possible on your operating surface and your instrument table(s).

SurgiCube®: perform sterile surgery, location independent

Because the SurgiCube® can be implemented location independent one can perform all small surface surgery and microsurgery in any hospital, outpatient center or private clinic or even at a medical office or residence. There are no constructional limitations; one requires only a dust and germ free room in which to place the SurgiCube®. Since the SurgiCube® narrows the ultra clean air flow to the operating surface and the instrument table(s), no restrictions exists in the environment around the SurgiCube®. The ultra modern design of the SurgiCube® makes it easy to fit your style. Use of the SurgiCube® will enable you to offer true patient satisfaction. Entering a conventional operating room generally generates anxiety for the average patient, not so entering the SurgiCube®. Patients will feel comfortable and do not have to dress for surgery. Assisting personnel can also wear regular clothes and act more as hosts rather then unrecognizable operating room assistants. If needs be, the room can be made accessible for an accompanying partner to the patient, offering support and comfort.
