Oculaid® Compression Molded Capsular Tension Ring

Sizes available are 12 mm and 13 mm.

The tension rings are compression molded unlike other manufacturers which gives the ring high flexibility avoiding breakage.

The capsular tension ring is also available in brown for ease of visibility.

Oculaid Capsular Tension rings are fully CE marked and comply to EC-Directive 0344

Ocular Implants and Iris Reconstruction

Aniridia lenses for children are always patient design and then it usually can be anything you want. The Surgeon should simply supply Spectrum with all information and Ophtec will design the lens. Depending on the specification Ophtec will then give confirmation on what can be manufactured.

Ophtec specialize in iris reconstruction implants, adaptable to individual traumatic and anatomical defects. These implants are all available in black, brown, green and blue.

Ophtec also offer a custom designed iris reconstruction implant for special situations in which a standard design cannot be used.

An excellent approach to Diplopia is to cover the pupil with an iris fixated IOL or PIOL made of black nontransparent polycarbonate. The implant is vaulted which allows implantation in both aphakic and phakic eyes.

The IPS® elements are used in conjunction with a posterior chamber lens and an OCULAID® Capsular Tension Ring for stability.

IPS® Fixation Ring

An artificial 4 mm aperture can be reduced to 3 mm with the use of the IPS® Fixation Ring. This ring counteracts a secondary shrinkage of the capsular bag and stabilizes the artificial aperture.

Scleral/Sulcus fixation

Aniridia lenses with coloured haptics and additional optical correction provide a solution for scleral and sulcus fixation:

Where insufficient capsular support the C-loop Aniridia II lens is an option. This lens is indicated for both sulcus and scleral fixation.

Both the Aniridia I and II lenses can be used for the correction of Aniridia as well as Iris Coloboma.

Rota Disc

This is a circular supported disc lens with coloured haptics and additional optical correction. This design is mainly indicated for Aniridia. The dioptric power is available upon request.
