Trabecular micro-bypass surgery: unique design, delivery system and implantation site

The iStent® is the first ab interno micro-bypass implant available for the treatment of glaucoma. The iStent® Trabecular Micro-Bypass, model GTS100R/L is CE Marked and available in Europe and Canada for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma.

The device can be implanted into Schlemm’s canal either in combined procedures or phakic patients through a 1.5 mm incision
The product has an excellent safety and clinical profile
iStent® completely eliminates hypotony, blebs and shallowing anterior chamber
Ideal to use as the first option in earlier glaucoma surgery, leaving all other surgical options open if needed at a later stage
A single iStent® provides significant reductions in IOP and reduces patient reliance on topical medications

The iStent® is implant grade titanium and heparin coated.
Size of the implant: 0.5 x 0.25 x 1.0 mm, now the smallest device being implanted in a human body.
